Month 5 for Leelee!

Lyric is getting so old! He is 5 months old. He is on stage 2 foods already. He likes carrots, peas, pears for stage one. So far on the stage 2 he likes pear and strawberry granola, and nothing else. He likes very much to eat all of our food! We let him try everything, and some things he doesn't even make faces for. He is getting so big! He can roll over both ways like a pro, makes diaper time tricky! He also tries to put his legs under himself to crawl. He is finally out of his puking stage, he pukes maybe once a day now. I think it's the solids that have made it better.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that he has been sleeping through the night since about 2 months. He, of course, wakes up to eat after about 8 hours. Lately, he has been waking up crying here and there every night, but i just cuddle him for a second and rub his back and he passes back out. I think it has something to do with teething, and it is a very long and annoying process. I can't wait til those suckers pop up! I had at least 2 teeth at 6 months, and I heard its hereditary, so I am expecting them soon! Not sure when Troy's came in though.

Lyric is a professional jumper. He jumps in his jumper, and in our laps. He is addicted I guess. It is so awesome how excited he gets when he is jumping. I love it. I still don't know why he hardly ever laughs. I mean, he gets EXTREMELY excited and acts like he is laughing but, most of the time, nothing comes out unless he is getting tickled. I did get some belly laughs last week. He was sitting on me, I had my legs up, so his feet were right by my face. He kicked my chin and I said 'Ouch!' and he chuckled, so I kept doing it and he was laughing so much! We were both loving it =] I wish it would happen more often!

Also, we are loving the outside! He has been enjoying it the last week or so. Can't wait for the summertime!

Months 1-4

I am summarizing, because Lyric is now almost 6 months old.

The first month home, Troy was my savior. He did a lot more than I did because of complications that I had. Ouch. Breastfeeding lasted exactly one month. Then we switched to formula, and ended up switching him to soy. Lyric didn't really do too much. He pooped a lot while he was breastfed, that's for sure! He started smiling actual smiles at about a month and a half I think, maybe a little before. In the picture above, he was a month and a half. He smiled/smiles sooo much. Never seen a baby smile so much. He was a pro at holding his head up right away when he was born, even the nurses commented. He has been standing in our laps since he came out too! Well, almost.

He loved his baths, until he got eczema. As soon as we had to cut down on baths per week he kind of forgot about it. Then he started crying as soon as he would touch the water. He has grown out of that. He started solids at 4 months. He really likes to eat. Umm.. We spent a lot of his 3rd month at his cousin Rylee's, babysitting I think Lyric misses seeing him because he gets so happy now, when he sees him =]
His first Thanksgiving was spent, first at my parents house. We ate and then went to Troy's mom's house. All of his family was there, and Lyric was wonderful. We stayed there all day and into the night, I left and went shopping with my sister for the after Thanksgiving sales, and Daddy took care of him.
For Christmas, he got a few clothes and toys from Grandpa Frank, a big zoo toy from Grandma and Grandpa that he loves. His favorite toy is a learning singing book that Grandpa Frank got him. Jr and Katy got him the seahorse that I had wanted since before having him, a cute photo frame for each month up to a year, and Katy made him a very cute blanket! I think that is all he got, we didn't even get him anything.
At his 4 month appointment he weighed 14lbs 9oz and was 26 inches long =]

Bringing My pride and joy into this world!

Well, at my appointment October 6th, I was dilated to 2, but Lyric's head was still floating, so I thought I would be waiting for a couple weeks.. we set his induction for the 14th. That night I went to Walmart with my friend, Neah, and we walked around for a long time. It was a lot more painful than usual. Nothing happened until the following night. I felt a lot of pressure and didn't really think much of it. At approximately 4am on October 8th, which was also my due date, we were sitting in bed watching tv. I was eating a bowl of buttered noodles, one of my favorite foods, and all of the sudden my water broke. I looked at Troy and said 'did my water just break, look' and he was like 'OMG GET OFF THE BED!' haha so i ran to the bathroom and stood in the shower while he called his grandma so we could use her car. I had my backs packed for the most part, so he got the rest ready and i stuffed an old towel in my pants and off we went.

When I got to the hospital I was still dilated to 2.. This lasted until about 8am. I walked a bunch, sat on that stupid ball, nothing changed. So then they started pitocin. At about eleven I was about 2.5-3 and they kept pressuring me to get my epidural (even though I was in no pain at all). They told me that I needed to rest so they were going to start the epidural. It worked too good on me is what they said. I hated how helpless I felt and sometimes felt like I couldn't breathe. Switching positions was annoying as hell! Troy's mom, Tammy, was there for the whole day, his sister came towards the end and we all pretty much sat there.

At about 7:00 i started pushing, with just Troy in the room. My mom, dad, my sister Angela, my sister Toni her boyfriend Hector, Cruzy, Tammy and Tiffany, all sat outside and waited. Well my stubborn child was facing a little bit sideways, and with them trying to move him I ended up pushing for 2 1/2 hours! Ouch, that sucked. I thought I was going to be sick so many times, but it never happened! Finally, they told me they were calling in a doctor to do a c-section. I was scared. He came in, took a peek and said 'im using the forcepts'. Even more ouch! But with 2 pushes He pulled him out. I remember saying after the first push when he had the forcepts on him, 'I can't push anymore!' and the doctor said 'you have to, he's halfway out!' Well, that last push when he finally came out was crazy. The feeling of him coming out was so wierd! Unexplainable that's for sure. We delivered our baby boy at 10:11 pm. He was 9lbs 1.3oz., 20.5 inches long, and had a huge head measuring 14.5 inches. I forgot to mention in here, Troy was amazing. He helped throughout everything. Don't know what I would have done without him.

Me and Troy both teared up pretty good, me especially. They layed him on me and i was in love! My baby boy was so cute right from the start. The whole time I was pregnant I was so scared of him coming out ugly, yea I'm mean, I know. He was beautiful! They had to stitch me up which took forever.. and then everyone came in to see him. Besides Tiffany, she left right before he ended up coming out. After they left the room I had to feed Lyric. That was really hard. He didn't want to latch. They ended up giving me a nipple shield which helped a little bit. Tammy stayed all day and stayed the night with us. The next couple days were a bit foggy, Tiffany came to visit, and so did Neah. My WHOLE family ended up being sick the day after he was born so they couldn't come back. We ended up staying an extra night due to Jaundice, Lyric had to sleep under the lights. We went home on the 11th at about noon. Tammy brought us a snowsuit and carseat cover and off we went.

Finding out about my peanut

I've always wanted a baby. When I finally found out I was pregnant I was soo excited! Troy wanted a baby also, but was a little more shocked than I was. He got over it really quickly though. He wanted a boy, so did I. Good thing he ended up being a boy because we called him 'he' for a long time. Lyric was the name we had picked out since before we ever got pregnant. We both fell in love with it. Daddy swears he picked it out.. but I know I came up with it. Whatever.

Anyways, we found out on February 10th, 2009, I felt like crap at work and left early. I stopped on the way home and bought a test, took it right when I got home, and didn't even think that the cigarette I smoke on the way home might be my last cigarette. It was (then). Well pregnancy was okay for me. No morning sickness, just occasional nausea. 2nd trimester I felt great. 3rd trimester. Ugh.

Little did I know, I had a huge child inside of me, so I was all baby. I couldn't sleep comfortably for the last 2 months! His little butt was pushing out really bad on my left side, and his little feet were jabbing my ribs on the right side. ALL DAY EVERY DAY. It was horrible. Back hurt when I sat or stood too much. Couldn't sleep on my back because I couldn't breathe. Oh man I am hating just thinking about it...
